Meet Our Director Youth & Education, Karen Bonds:

Karen is originally from Charleston, SC where she lived until 1996. She graduated from Middleton High School in 1982. She then attended Trident Technical College and Medical University of SC where she received an Associate in Health Sciences, a Certificate in Radiologic Technology, and a Certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

She worked in the medical field for 12 years in Charleston at several hospitals.In 1995, Karen felt God’s call into the ministry. She moved to the Asheville area in 1996 and returned to school at Montreat College. She graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services.Karen joined our staff in May 1997 as a youth intern.

In November 1998, she became our full time Director of Children and Youth. In January of 2007 she accepted the title of Director of Youth & Education. She resides in Asheville.

She is currently enrolled in the M. Christopher White School of Divinity at Gardner-Webb University where she will receive a Master of Divinity in Christian Education.
